Joey Tai

BA (Psych), Master of Clinical Psychology

Joey Tai is a registered Clinical Psychologist.

Joey has a special interest in working with individuals or couples who have relationship/marriage problems, and encourages his clients to explore and address some of the inner conflicts within themselves which may have contributed to their accompanying relational difficulties.

Sessions with Joey are open and non-judgemental in nature; you are free to share and delve deeper into your own personal life so as to understand and subsequently modify the factors which might have held you back in your personal relationships.

Joey believes that everyone has a need to be listened to and in this process of attending to your personal sharing, he is able to provide helpful insights into why you may have difficulties in your relationships.

As a Youth and Young Adults Pastor, Joey is comfortable working with children, youth and young adults. He believes that many of their difficulties may stem from the home environment and seeks to address their difficulties at a family-systems level. He is also proficient in providing psychometric assessments if necessary.

As Joey is a Christian, he is happy to provide therapy to Christians from a biblical perspective. If you are more comfortable with sharing your difficulties with a Christian psychologist and working according to the principles of God’s grace, Joey is able to provide such services.

Joey aims to first of all listen to your difficulties and then work alongside you to understand and resolve your inner conflicts. Having worked and used these strategies in the Royal Brisbane Hospital (Mental Health Centre), Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland and the QUT University clinics, he has seen how effective it can be across a variety of populations.

Joey has a particular interest in helping others with:
